University of Cologne. Good Ideas. Since 1388.
Due to upcoming retirements six positions in the area of applied mathematics will become available
over the course of the next five years at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Cologne. The
institute wants to use this renewal to enhance and strengthen its competence in the fields of numerics,
stochastics, analysis and optimization. One of the professorships is intended to continue the close
cooperation with the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in the area of numerical simulation and scientific
computing.
The FWF doctoral programme W1227 "Computational Interdisciplinary Modelling" at the University of Innsbruck in Austria offers 20 research positions for doctoral students in the fields of Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Astro- and Particle Physics, Ion and Applied Physics, and Civil Engineering. Each position is intended for a period of three years. The programme will start in October 2010.
