At the Johann Radon Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematics (RICAM) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Linz, Austria,
the “Scientific Computing – Optimization and Optimal Control Group” is searching a PostDoc with a strong background in partial differential equations, variational problems or scientific computing. The research focus will be adjusted according to the interests of the successful candidate, but knowledge in optimal control or optimization is especially welcome.
Applications are invited for postdoctoral positions in applied mathematics at ACMAC starting in September 2012. We seek mathematical scientists who have a background and/or an interest in the areas of modeling, analysis and computation. Postdoctoral fellows will interact with faculty members of the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete and short- and long-term ACMAC visitors. Please check the department's web page for information on faculty members and their research interests.
Four PhD positions are available at the Laboratory of Computational Methods and Numerical Analysis (http://www-lacan.upc.edu/) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (http://www.upc.edu/) in Spain.
