Applications are invited for a Research Specialist in statistics at the Science Institute. The successful applicant should conduct research in a branch of statistics, applied or theoretical. The main duties will be to conduct independent research. However, all statisticians at the University of Iceland participate in the general statistical advice for faculty and PhD students. Although the position has no teaching duties, the future employee may teach some statistics courses but this must remain a minor part of the duties.

Applications are invited for the post of Research Specialist in the mathematics division of the Science Institute of the University of Iceland. The appointee is expected to conduct research in mathematics. Teaching is not a mandatory part of the post. The appointee participation in teaching is a matter of agreement and teaching will only be a small part of the workload. The appointment is temporary for two years from the 1st of August 2013, or otherwise according to agreement, with a possibility of an extension of one year.

We offer a 16- month post-doctoral position within the Fluminance team at INRIA, Rennes, France. The research is placed in the context of flow motion estimation from image sequences. More particularly, the post-doctorate will address the problem of estimating three-dimensional (3D) fluid flows from image sequences captured from different views.
