The Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics (WIAS) is an institute of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FVB). The FVB comprises eight non-university research institutes in Berlin which are funded by the federal and state governments. The research institutes are members of the Leibniz Association.
WIAS invites applications for a Scientist starting at September, 1st 2011 (Ref. 11/07).
For the development of an extended dissemination concept you play an important role in the dialogue between scientists of the institute and an external technology transfer agency as well as users from industry, economy and science.This requires a profound understanding of the mathematical research topics as well as of the of main application areas of the institute. The conceptional work implies among others aspects of screening and assessment of technology as well as the development of dissemination strategies. Furthermore you take part in marketing activities and you are involved in preparing and conducting presentation of the institute at exhibitions.
Condition of employment is the graduation in one of the scientific areas (preferably mathematics, physics or engineering sciences), which are related to the described working tasks.

The appointment is limited to March, 31st, 2014. The salary is according to the TvoeD scale.
