Prize for Dissemination of Science to member of EMS RPA committee

Raul Ibañez (Department of Mathematics, Universidad País Vasco, Spain) has received the Prize for Dissemination of Science 2011, awarded by COSCE (Confederation of National Associations of Spain). This initiative intends to encourage scientists to disseminate their work and knowledge to society in general.
Raúl Ibañez is member of the Raising Public Awareness Committee of the European Mathematical Society, organizer of the Committee for Outreach of Mathematics of the Royal Spanish Mathematical Society (RSME) and head of the portal DivulgaMAT (http://www.divulgamat.net/). He organizes exhibitions and conferences using a variety of media in the dissemination of mathematics, participates in activities in schools, and writes books.
