Spanish National Award for Research 2011 awarded to Antonio Córdoba Barba

Prof. Antonio Córdoba Barba has been awarded the Spanish National Award for Research 2011
"Julio Rey Pastor", in the area of Mathematics and Information Technologies. The objective of the National Awards, awarded by the Spanish Government since 2001, and endowed with 100,000 euros each, is to give credit to the work of Spanish researchers and their contribution to the advancement of science, knowledge and progress of humanity.
Antonio Córdoba Barba is Professor at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and researcher of the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas CSIC-UAM-UC3M-UCM (Spain). The jury has praised his original, profound and fundamental contributions in different areas of Mathematicas, specially in Fourier analysis, partial differential equaitons and applications to fluid mechanics.
