The Institute for Applied and Numerical Mathematics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) invites applications for a PhD or Post-Doc position in numerical analysis or scientific computing. KIT ranks among the leading research institutes in Germany and is one of the prestigious ``Elite-Universitaeten'' selected within the framework of the German Excellence Initiative.
The candidate is supposed to work on numerical methods and model reduction techniques for high-dimensional differential equations with applications in systems biology. More information about our research field can be found at http://highdim.math.kit.edu/.

We are looking for a talented and motivated person with an excellent knowledge of numerical methods for partial and ordinary differential equations and the related analysis. Moreover, the candidate must be familiar with MATLAB and have substantial experience of programming. Language skills in German are not mandatory because the position is a
pure research position with no teaching obligations. However, the candidate must have a sufficient level of written and spoken English. Applications must contain

+ a detailed list of passed exams and obtained grades (it is not necessary to scan any certificates, diplomas etc.),
+ a list of awards and publications.
