A research associate position in differential geometry is available in the School of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Adelaide. The position is funded from the Australian Research Council Discovery Project “Holonomy groups in Lorentzian geometry”. The project is in the area of differential geometry with the aim to study holonomy groups and special geometric structures in Lorentzian, semi-Riemannian and conformal geometry.
A PhD or equivalent qualification in pure mathematics, awarded or nearing completion, is required, as is a record of research and strong research potential in differential geometry. A record of research in holonomy theory, Lorentzian or conformal geometry or a closely related area is desirable.
This fixed-term position is available from early 2012 for a period of 32 months.
