Short description of the event:

Efficient solutions to protect coasts against marine pollutions require synergies coming from the combination of various expertise and competences. This 4th workshop aims to identify synergies which can be found between domains like mathematics, numerical modelling, mechanics, biology, economy and laws…

EIGSI Engineering School will organise at La Rochelle (F) 5-6 Avril 2012, its 4th workshop "marine pollution response". Researchers, responders and stakeholders meet during presentations and round-tables.

Theirs topics concern:
- Materials and structures (Fluid-structure and capture interaction, cable and membrane equations, optimization)
- Coastal hydrodynamic (Computational fluid dynamic, numerical analysis of shallow water equations, partial derivative)
- Biological impacts (biology, multivariate analysis, indicators)
- Economy and laws (compensation costs, insurance coverage, coastal vulnerability)
