The Mathematical Institute at the Georg-August-University Göttingen
invites applications for a full position as postdoctoral researcher within the scope of the
German Research Foundation (DFG) Priority Programme "1388 Representation Theory".
The position is for two years, starting October 1, 2012.
Position: The succesful candidate is expected to carry out research in complex
algebraic geometry, in particular questions related to line bundles and linear series,
with applications to group actions and representation theory.
The position is a full research position. No teaching duties are
Salary: Salaries are in accordance with the german state regulated public
service salary scale (E13 TV-L).
Requirements: Applicants should have a Ph.D. in
mathematics, or be able to complete a Ph.D. before the starting date,
and must have a strong background in algebraic geometry. Some knowledge of
algebraic groups or complex Lie algebras will be viewed favourably.
