Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Financial Mathematics, Probability and Statistics in the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London. The Department has had a very distinguished mathematical and scientific tradition since its foundation in 1829. It currently has around 500 undergraduate and 130 postgraduate students following its programmes. The Department has six internationally recognised research groups: Analysis, Geometry, Number Theory, Disordered Systems, Financial Mathematics, and Theoretical Physics. The Financial Mathematics group has currently five permanent members (Prof T Pennanen, Dr C Buescu, Dr T Di Matteo, Dr M Forde, Dr M Riedle) and two open positions. King’s College London is a research-led university based in the heart of London with nearly 23,500 students (of whom more than 9,000 are graduate students) from nearly 140 countries, and some 9,000 employees.

Candidates should have the potential to carry out research which has high levels of originality, innovation and depth that may well lead to significant impact on their field over the long term. The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Contribute to the research activity of the Department, maintaining a track record of research of international excellence.
  • Take part in teaching and examining for the Department’s undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, and to supervise research students in the Department.
  • Make a contribution to the academic organisation of the Department.
