The candidate should have a distinguished academic record in a central research area of Discrete Mathematics; a focus on Algebraic Combinatorics is particularly welcome. The research topics should have potential for collaboration at the Institute for Algebra, Number Theory and Discrete Mathematics and should complement and strengthen the profile of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics.
As part of the responsibilities the successful candidate is expected to represent the field of Discrete Mathematics in teaching and research, and to take an appropriate part in teaching courses both for beginning mathematics students as well as mathematics courses for students of other subjects.
The responsibilities and required qualification for employment are specified in the Higher Education Act of Niedersachsen (NHG , § 25).
