The University of Luxembourg is seeking to appoint for its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication a
Professor of Mathematics (m/f)
Area: Stochastic Modelling
Starting date: April 2013 or later
The candidate will be a member of the Mathematics Research Unit (RMATH)
He/She will build up a research group in stochastic modelling inside the Mathematics Research Unit. Interactions with other research groups at the RMATH are encouraged. Interactions with other research units or interdisciplinary centres of the University are expected.
He/She will be involved in teaching on the Bachelor, Master, and PhD levels in the RMATH and in the services offered by the RMATH.
The candidate must hold a PhD in Mathematics or a related field and must have a post-doctoral experience of at least five years. Experience in PhD supervision will be an asset.
The successful candidate should hold a strong research record in a stochastic modeling or in a related field of mathematical modelling.
The background and research interest of the candidate should allow interactions with other research groups of the University.

However, it is also possible to obtain proficiency in a second language after being hired as the University provides access to language classes.
