Description

Post doctoral position opened in the frame of the TRISTAN project, financed by the French Research Agency (ANR).

TRISTAN is the follow-up of the former EGSISTES project, during which a 3D numerical method was developed to simulate blast waves propagating in confined domains. This work led to 5 publications in two years.

The method is further developed in TRISTAN with application to full-scale facilities. In particular, adaptive grid capacity is implemented to efficiently and accurately capture the propagation patterns.

The blast waves yield high pressure waves requiring very fine meshes, and involve supersonic velocities and very small time-steps. The combined effect of these two factors requires significant computational effort.

Mission

The candidate shall contribute to the adaptive grid implementation with emphasis on the adaptive sensor. The support to real case calculation will also be provided.

Profile

PhD in Numerical Fluid Dynamics and/or Applied Mathematics.
