The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Basel, Switzerland, is seeking applicants for a 2-year postdoc position in mathematics. The starting annual salary is about CHF 77'000 (approx. EUR 64'000). The successful candidate will get the opportunity to work in the area of nonlinear partial differential equations and/or mathematical physics. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in mathematics or theoretical physics (with strong emphasis on mathematics) and has done successful research in the area of analysis with aspiration to a scientific career. Applicants will be part of an international workgroup and an English-speaking environment. Teaching duties are part of the position, where teaching an own lecture course may be an option. Some knowledge of German is desirable but not mandatory. Resources for conference travel and computer equipment are available.
