We are seeking a member of the project team to increase our capacity in the area of maintaining, tuning, and further developing the Swarm Level 1b data processing system, converting raw satellite telemetry (Level 0) into calibrated, corrected, and geo-localized measurements in SI units (Level 1b).

Tasks will include, but are not limited to

  • Data-analysis for monitoring and possibly improving Swarm Level 1b performance by parameter tuning and algorithm improvements
  • Design, implementation, test, and documentation of algorithm improvements
  • Analysis and possibly compensation of effects of contingencies (e.g. caused by instrument or subsystem deterioration or failure)
  • Documentation of the above tasks in the form of official reports
  • Participation in international meetings on Swarm around Europe (and possibly America)

Applicants shall have an interest in, and relevant background knowledge, for advanced data analysis and possess relevant experience in SW development as the position is focused on the development of complex systems. The candidate will be responsible for data analysis, including the preparation of detailed documentation of the results.

Furthermore, we expect

  • Experience with advanced data analysis, using Matlab for statistics and Fourier analysis
  • Personal and social qualifications: team-player, self-organizing
  • Command of written and spoken technical English

Salary and appointment terms
Your appointment will be based on the collective agreement between the Danish State and the Confederation of Professional Associations.

The position is situated at DTU Space on DTU Campus in Lyngby, north of Copenhagen.

The employment is limited to four years but with a possibility of subsequently making the position permanent.
