MATHEMATICAL METHODS FOR SPECTRAL PROBLEMS: Applications to waveguides, periodic media and metamaterials

The idea of this workshop is to gather together specialists working on spectral elliptic boundary value problems, to a meeting with enough time also for discussions in between the lecture schedule.
The topics of the conference are analytic and numerical methods for elliptic spectral problems, and particular interest is focused on periodic media, waveguides, spectral band-gap structures, scattering of waves and other phenomena, which are relevant in mathematical models of wave propagation in material physics, fluid dynamics and so on. The conference site is the Exactum building at the Kumpula Campus of the University of Helsinki
