The first ERC Advanced Grant for mathematics in the Czech Republic

The proposal of the project MATHEF - Mathematical Thermodynamics of Fluids succeded in the competition for ERC Advanced Grants and will be funded in the period 2013-2018. This is the first ERC Advanced Grant in mathematics in the Czech Republic ever and the only one assigned to a Czech scientist this year. The principal investigator Eduard Feireisl from the Instutite of Mathematics AS CR in Prague was the chair of the Scientific Committee of the 6th European Congress of Mathematics in Krakow. There is an open call for a PhD student to work in the project with the deadline 31 March 2013 - see the Jobs section.
