Applications are invited for a Research Specialist in statistics at the Science Institute. The successful applicant should conduct research in a branch of statistics, applied or theoretical. The main duties will be to conduct independent research. However, all statisticians at the University of Iceland participate in the general statistical advice for faculty and PhD students. Although the position has no teaching duties, the future employee may teach some statistics courses but this must remain a minor part of the duties. The position is for two years with a possible extension for one year, starting as soon as possible. Potentially two researchers may be employed.
The applicant should have completed a PhD in statistics, preferably PhD completed during the five years preceding the employment.
