Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Leicester, to work with Dr Sibylle Schroll on the EPSRC funded project "Geometric representations of cluster categories, Brauer graph algebras and RNA secondary structures ".
The successful applicant will work on this project as part of a research team, which will comprise of the appointed Research Associate, a PhD student and the Principal Investigator, Sibylle Schroll. The broad context of the project is representation theory of algebras. The main goal of the project is to compare the geometric representation theory of cluster categories with that of Brauer graph algebras and to connect both of these to RNA secondary structures.
Applicants should have a background in representation theory. It is expected that they are able to demonstrate capability of excellence in research and have, or expect soon to be awarded, a PhD (or equivalent).
Available from September 2013, this is a fixed-term position for 24 months.
