The University of Aberdeen has just advertised several openings for
positions in Mathematics. The level of appointments may vary between Lecturer,
Senior Lecturer, or Reader, according to individual qualifications.
The competition is open to all subjects, but strong applications from
mathematicians working in areas well represented in the Institute of
Mathematics (in particular topology) may be given a preference.
Resident in the topology group in Aberdeen include Richard Hepworth, Jarek
Kedra, Ran Levi and Assaf Libman. Other areas of strength are Representation
Theory Functional Analysis and Algebraic Geometry. Research in the Institute
was rated among the top 10 departments in the UK in the 2008 Research
