Full Professorship in “Mathematical Stochastics”
The applicant is expected to have outstanding academic credentials and an excellent track record of scientific accomplishments in the field of Mathematical Stochastics, focusing on a modern area of stochastics, preferably on stochastic processes with their probability theoretic foundations as well as with applications in science and technology. The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the institute’s research output, to provide leadership for researchers and postgraduate students and to undertake an appropriate teaching load, in particular for students of mathematics. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have the ability and willingness to establish collaborations with institutions working in related fields of research and to those who have a demonstrated ability to attract external project funding.
Knowledge of German is not a precondition; however, we expect a successful candidate to acquire a working knowledge of German.
The applicant must meet the following requirements: A completed academic degree in the field under consideration, an outstanding academic track record in research and teaching, pedagogic and didactic skills, leadership abilities and international working experience in the field of research.
The closing date for applications is February 28, 2013.
University professors belong to grade A1 of the Austrian Collective Agreement for University Staff and receive a minimum salary of Eur 64416.80 per year. Any higher salary agreement will be negotiated individually with the successful candidate, commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
