The Institute of Mathematics and Physics (Talca University, Chile) invites applications for postdoctoral positions in mathematical physics, starting October 2010. Up to four positions are available.
The successful candidates are expected to conduct research in areas closely related to the work of at least one of the following faculty members:
• Patrick Desrosiers: random matrices and integrable systems.
• Felipe van Diejen: integrable systems.
• Mokhtar Hassaine: gravitation
• Luc Lapointe: integrable systems and symmetric functions.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in mathematics or physics, or anticipate Ph.D. completion by September 2010. The positions are initially for 2 years, renewable on a yearly basis subject to funds availability and performance. The salary is 14.400.000 Chilean Pesos per annum (approx. USD 28.400 per annum). Support will also be provided for international travel for conferences/collaboration meetings.
