Job Description: 

The Centre de Mathématiques "Laurent Schwartz" located in Palaiseau, in the Paris area, will award two "Hadamard" positions for outstanding young mathematicians in any area of fundamental mathematical research.

The position is for 3 years, renewable once. The salary corresponds to "Professeur de 2ème classe". This is supplemented by a grant consisting of the possibility to invite a collaborator for one month every year, and 6 000 euros for travel, invitations and expenses.
The teaching load is about equivalent to two courses per year.

Candidates are required to hold a PhD degree and have some postdoctoral and teaching experience. They are expected to be appointed as full professors in a top French or Foreign university at the end of the 3 or 6 years period.

The Centre de Mathématiques "Laurent Schwartz" is the fundamental mathematics department of Ecole polytechnique. Located in Palaiseau, 25km south of Paris, (45mn by train) within few minutes by car or train from Orsay University and IHES, Ecole polytechnique is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in France.
