Departmental Lecturership in Statistics
Grade 7: Salary £28,983 - £35,646 p.a.
Fixed Term Contract of 3 years’ Duration

The Department of Statistics seeks to appoint a full-time Departmental Lecturer on a fixed-term contract of 3 years’ duration with a keen interest in teaching and with exciting research potential. This is a temporary appointment with the objectives to make provision for teaching, and to develop and strengthen the research profile of the department. It is expected that the successful candidate will take up the post from 1 September 2010, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will have a doctorate or equivalent degree in Statistics or a relevant discipline and have experience and ability to teach core topics in mainstream statistics at MSc level.

The principal duties of the post are to: provide teaching and supervision up to an average of 40 lectures per year or equivalent; act as an assessor or examiner; and supervise or co-supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
