Reader in Biomathematics

Salary range: from £52,400 p.a.
Applications are invited for a Reader in Biomathematics starting June 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Made possible by an ambitious strategic investment by Imperial College London, the Biomathematics Group in the Department of Mathematics is seeking to expand.
All candidates will have research interests in an area of biomathematics or similar discipline at the interface between the mathematical sciences and the experimental life sciences, with preference for those who work at the molecular or cellular level. A PhD (or equivalent) in the Mathematical Sciences or a closely related discipline is also a pre-requisite. Candidates should also have a track record of collaborating with experimental biologists.
Candidates for the Readership will be expected to have an internationally leading research record and strong leadership qualities, ideally in areas which enhance and extend those of the group, though those with proven leadership ability in other areas will also be considered. Experience in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates is also essential. Additionally, a proven track record of securing research funding is desirable. The minimum starting salary for a Reader at Imperial College London is £52,400.
