Job Description: 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Jyväskylä in central Finland is a world class research institution training mathematicians and statisticians for diverse jobs in industry, education, and academic research.

Two positions will be filled for lecturers in mathematics; one of these will focus primarily on the education of secondary school mathematics teachers, and the lecturer should be able to teach in Finnish . Appointments are made for one to four year positions, or on a continuing basis. Applicants must have PhD degree and a strong post doctoral research record. The Department seeks highly qualified individuals with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in research and teaching in areas of existing strength in our department, including analysis, stochastic processes, and related areas of applied mathematics. The duties include both research and teaching.
